Hi, Crafter. Thank you for taking the time to visit Destination Decoration.
This is Kevin, Elizabeth’s husband. Unfortunately I don’t have good news for you, and I don’t really know how to communicate this softly.
Elizabeth passed away in 2017 after being diagnosed with melanoma (skin cancer). She was 27 years old, and this website was her lifeblood. It represented her dream to work for herself, sharing a love of teaching, crafting, and lettering with anyone willing to listen. Hers is a story of conquest over evil in this world. A story of love, family, faith, and a little bit of water coloring!
Why do I tell you this? Because this website means a lot to me. It is her mark on the world, and my intention is to continually support that dream. For me, Destination Decoration is a piece of Elizabeth that so many others get to have too. It’s so special in fact, that I will keep the lights on over here even after the last visitor has come and left. I’ll keep her business until I am called away to heaven too.
It’s important you know this because I am here, paying the bill, and making small adjustments under the covers to the site. I read all the comments and delete all the spam, but you won’t get an intelligent response from me if you ask about crafting or water colors, or anything else she was exceptionally better at than I. I wish I could, but part of it is just to be fair to you, and the other is to preserve the good nature of Destination Decoration (my grumblings about crafts are better kept to myself!).
The only change you’ll notice on the site is a marketplace for her commodities (future plans), and some site security (you might already notice the https and the lock symbol in the url bar).
I’m not asking for anything more than your understanding and patience. Rest assured I’ll be on the other end of everything if you ever have a question (kevin@destinationdecoration.com).
Keeping the lights on with love,
Kevin
